Hi, guys! You know how picky I've been with my hair products lately so when the naturally based brand Maple Holistics asked if I wanted to try their Tea Tree Special Formula Shampoo, I gave a big 'yes, please' :)
Maple Holistics is an organic and naturally based company that sells a variety of different products. Their product categories include health foods, body care, personal care, and hair care, which are all proudly made in the USA and cruelty-free.
Their Tea Tree Shampoo currently retails for $8.95 and has a 5/5 star rating on both their site and Amazon store, backed by a 100% money back guarantee. After doing that bit of research, I was especially interested to try them out. I was sent the shampoo by itself, so it's kind of hard to gauge just how much the shampoo is doing v. the conditioner I follow up with, but either way, it plays nice.
This product claims to clear away dead skin and soothe blemishes on the scalp with a sulfate-free formula. I didn't notice any adverse reaction to my sensitive skin or scalp area after use, and I haven't experienced anything noticeably different either. Unlike other tea tree products I've tried, this one does not have a tingling or burning sensation at all.
In general, my experience with natural hair products as a whole hasn't always been pleasant. They can often be too heavy or not cleanse effectively since a lot of natural hair care won't lather as a traditional shampoo does. Needless to say, I'm pretty picky because my hair is on the thinner side. I can't afford to have my hair weighed down by product or oil left behind. I need all the volume and moisture I can get!
Speaking of volume, I especially enjoyed using this when my hair is feeling a bit floppy or weighed down by hair product–AKA dry shampoo. You know those ultra-busy weeks when you have so much buildup in your hair and it's difficult to tell where your hair ends and dry shampoo begins? That's when a clarifying product like this comes incomes in. A double cleanse with this bad boy and hair is back to normal, without stripping away much-needed moisture like most clarifying products do. This shampoo didn't necessarily help amp up my tresses to the max, but it in no way hindered it either.
When using the shampoo, you're pleasantly greeted with the clean smell of tea tree and a generous lather which has a soothing effect on both mind and body. As I'm writing this, I'm feeling a bit under the weather and thought I'd try a little experiment to see if it could help alleviate some of the congestion. I tried the shampoo earlier and it certainly did, even if just for a little bit.

All in all, this is a nice option to have in rotation, especially for a naturally based hair shampoo. If you're looking for a clarifying shampoo and enjoy the tea tree scent, you'll love this!
