I'm happy to say my empties bin was glowing with awesomeness this month. Just about every product has some intense feelings attached, most of which I was sad to see go.
Jumping right in, we have a sample size of the
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. I had lost this one after a trip and started using its massive full-sized version ever since. I have to say that I enjoyed the sample better! I still really like the full size, but I find it a little too wet for my limp lashes. The full, plush wand is great at building volume and the formula is rich and thick, great for plumping them up with some seriously intense black color. I especially reach for this mascara when I do a smokey or really intense eye. The incredibly dark black pigment really makes my brown eyes pop.
In terms of repurchasing this, I'm still working on the full size and have more mascaras waiting to be used than I know what to do with, so I'll have to pass for now. However, if/when I do purchase this again, it'll most likely be in the travel size.
Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer* in Warm Medium is in my all time top 3 concealers…and yes, it's
that good! It has amazing coverage and really stays put all day with no creasing. The only potentially negative thing I can say about it is that it does tend to oxidize to a slightly darker color. So do keep that in mind when selecting a color for yourself.
If you're in the UK and haven't picked this up yet, you
need to next time you're in
Boots or
Superdrug. I've been incredibly lucky with the sweetest mother-in-law who sent me some back ups since we can't seem to get it in the U.S., otherwise I'd have to wait until my next trip to England and that would just break this little girl's heart.
Another in the top 3 ranks is the
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Light. This was what I reached for all summer and I have to say I'm really missing it lately. It worked incredible on days I felt my under eyes were too dry or irritated for something like the Collection one. It's so creamy and pigmented, not to mention it blends like a dream. I've never used the Nars Creamy Concealer, but I've heard they're quite similar and at a fraction of the price. Can't beat that! The hype around this one is well deserved. I'll definitely be repurchasing this.
The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Body Butter has been completely used up 'till the last drop. If you like rose scented products, you need this in your life. Its intoxicating rose scent took me to a happy place every time I used it. The fact that I even used up a scented product like this without getting sickly or bored is proof enough that I enjoyed it. I have a hard time finding scented items that are agreeable and this one passed the test. The scent also lasted a long time on my skin which I really appreciated, while still being richly hydrating. I enjoyed this all around and it's a definite repurchase for me.
Though it's worth the $20 price tag, check your local Marshall's to find it at a reduced price. I think I purchased mine for only $5.99 there.
Next up is this generic brush head that I purchased for my Clarisonic from Groupon. It came in a pack of 2 for $11.00 at the time (now $16) which I thought was too good to be true.
I have some really strong feelings about this product that deserve it's own post. Keep an eye out for that one if you're interested in this because it's going to have a lot of info and images to explain my thoughts.
Philosophy's Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Oil is yet another holy grail product of mine. If you've been following me for a while you'll know that the Philosophy's Purity line has transformed my skin from sensitive, irritated, and acne prone to what I'd proudly now call a calm, clear complexion. This cleansing oil has been a big part of the process to getting my skin in line.
I typically use this on days I've worn a full-face of makeup or when I feel I need some extra TLC before going in with my Purity cleanser. Now I know this is an oil and that most of us would run in the opposite direction, especially if we're oily, but look into it before you do! I did a lot of research on this before purchasing because of my sensitive acne prone tendencies. I suggest you do the same for your skin type, but I can almost promise you that you'll love it!
I'm currently cheating on this with the Boscia cleansing oil just to see the difference, but I've already gotten a back up of this one waiting to be used.
And lastly, I have yet another
Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Wild scent. Man, I love this stuff. I've tried so many other dry shampoos around this price point and they just don't compare to Batiste, in my experience. This one keeps my hair fresh and un-greasy for days if need be. Great for between washes, to freshen up in a hurry, and for adding volume even when your hair is freshly washed.
I also find that the Batiste dry shampoos leave less of a white cast in comparison to any other drugstore alternatives. I especially enjoy the fact that they cater to specific hair colors as well. Only problem is that I can never seem to find the one for dark hair on shelves! I'm not surprised though, it's amazing. I'll be hunting that one down next, but for now I'm using my back up of this Wild scent and the Blush travel size I received in this month's
Ipsy Glam Bag.
And that's it! As always, let me know your thoughts and experiences with any of these products if you've tried them. Especially if you have any suggestions for products that have worked out better for you! I'd love to know what some of your empties are too, so if you have them posted be sure to link me down in the comments!
♥ xoxo
