Hello again, friends!
If you follow me on Instagram, many of you may already know I took a short break to get settled into my new home! So excited for it, but man is it a lot of work…
I asked you guys on there if you'd like to see last month's faves and am here now to deliver ;)
Most of you are most likely very familiar with these types of posts, but just in case you're new to this whole thing, monthly faves are a show and tell of all of the products I've been loving over the month :)
Be sure to let me know what you think of the items if you've tried them yourself!
The first favorite, pictured below, is this gorgeous open teardrop bangle by Margaret Elizabeth in Labradorite. I received this beauty in my first Rocksbox set which I was super excited about. It's so versatile in that it can be dressed up or down, but my absolute favorite part is the stone detailing on each terminal that changes tone and hue depending on the lighting you're in.

My next favorite is the Autobalm California palette from The Balm Cosmetics. Unfortunately it's selling out everywhere, but I managed to find it here. I mean, just look at that packaging! Let's be real, I'd probably buy it just for the packaging alone, but fortunately this cute travel friendly palette contains just about everything you'd need to accent any makeup look on the go. I purchased this on Hautelook a few months ago for an absolute steal! It was such a good price that I just couldn't help myself and I may or may not have purchased a second one for an upcoming giveaway *gasp* ;)
Philosophy makes some of my absolute die hard favorite skincare products that I wouldn't dream of being without, so when they had a 40% sale earlier this year I stocked up on my faves as well as ventured into trying something new. The brand's Hope in a Jar moisturizer wasn't an immediate favorite as I didn't find it did very much initially. The smell was also something to get used to. I wish I could describe the scent better than clean, medicinal, and sharp…weird combo, I know. Just give it a sniff next time you're around a Philosophy counter.
I had purchased such a big size of this that I forced myself to use it. I am SO happy I did because my skin has never been better! I won't go into too much detail about all of this product's intended benefits, but I will say that this product (along with a few key buddies) has dramatically improved my skin's texture, hydration, tone, and color. I'll have to elaborate in a dedicated review of this product, soon to come.
If there's one thing you'll get to know real quick about me is that I love a good sale, so it's no surprise that I took advantage of the offer Sephora had going while phasing out the Soap & Glory line. You can read more about the brand's upcoming carrier changes and where to purchase S&G products here.
The Greatest Scrub of All Gently Foaming Face Polish is amazeballs. It makes your skin feel like new and really allows your skincare to soak in properly afterwards.
I find this product to be hydrating and has an almost conditioner-like consistency with fine grit scrubbing particles. The little scrubbers are great at removing dead skin cells and impurities without stripping or harshly scratching your skin. Truly, the best way to describe it is just as the name suggests--a face polish! My favorite way to use this skin savior is as a pre cleanse in the shower allowing it's hydrating and salicylic properties to soak in. Its slight pepperminty scent adds just the right amount of freshness and tingle to the experience to really make it feel luxuriously pampering. I'm addicted!
If you read my last post on my June Empties, you would have read all the good things I had to say about the Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion. Total game changer in my skincare routine! If you'd like to know more about it and why I love it so much, click here to read that post. If you have temperamental skin, you won't want to miss this one.
Royal Care Cosmetics (or RC Cosmetics) is well known for their affordable brushes. The construction of the 4 piece synthetic brush set, containing the brush pictured, was of questionable quality in comparison to the Sigma Synthetic Precision Kit it loosely resembled. I was under the impression that these tools were intended as eyeshadow blending brushes and was underwhelmed once I tried them in that way. It wasn't until about 2 months ago that I tested it out for buffing in concealer. Holy shiz they are amazing at it! Just goes to show that you shouldn't fully give up on products that didn't work out at first. They may just become the next underdog in your routine when you least expect it. Total recommend even if the construction of the brushes are a little wonky lol. The bristles are super soft and I've experienced no shedding from this set.
The Elf Instant Lift Brow Pencil in the shade Natural Brown has been a favorite lately for really chiseling out the lower half of my brows. Literally underlining the outer 2/3rds of my brow with this darker color has given my face the extra bit of structure to make me look put together and polished without going OTT.
The formula isn't at all waxy like new NYX pencil or the cult favorite from Anastasia Beverly Hills. It's quite a soft, richly pigmented and creamy product that really packs a punch. The spooli on the opposing side is actually really fantastic! It has strong, well made bristles that hold their shape for precision, blending and removing/distributing product.
You have been warned; do be careful if you have a heavy hand when applying or you may find yourself showcasing sharpie brows! Do also note that the color shades tend to lean dark.
Lastly (also pictured above) is the new Covergirl The Super Sizer mascara in Black. The formula combined with the flared wand is a definite win for this girl's sad, sad lashes. It doesn't weigh down my lashes and I can add a really good amount of length and volume. It builds upon itself beautifully and also plays well stacked with other mascaras. I don't know if I like this one better than my holy grail Jordana Best Lash Extreme, but man it's a close second. I have a feeling this mascara and I are going to have a long lived romance :)
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read my posts. I know these suckers are lengthy, so let me know if that's a good thing or if you'd like shorter entries.
Sending you lots of love and hope today brings you nothing but the good things :)
